3 Steps to Cultivating A Spiritual Practice in 2021

The pathway to living a prosperous and harmonious life begins with pure intentions.

Having a spiritual practice will help you to become more rooted in your intentions as you navigate through worldly desires while also prioritizing spiritual growth.

The ultimate and highest goal of any spiritual practice is Self-Realization.

We desire to heal, grow and evolve because we desire to know who we truly are.

At the start of any new beginning, you may have a strong desire to change old ways or to simply want more out of life. You do what anyone would think to do: set goals and resolutions to make it happen.

But if your desires are not rooted in your intentions, then the moment any challenge comes your way, you may quickly quit and go back to what feels familiar and comfortable.

That’s why having a spiritual practice is the most foundational work you can

do.

A daily spiritual practice will help you to:

-Increase physical stamina

-Balance emotions

-Increase mental clarity

-Elevate your energy

-Stimulate sexual drive

-Expand your consciousness

-Strengthen your sacred connection with the Divine

And the best part… it’s free.

Before we begin, here are some things you should know:

You do not need to be an expert to get started. There is no such thing. Your practice is going to be sacred and intimate to you. While we stem from the same Infinite Source, every human has their own unique path. It will look different for everyone. It is a lot more simple than you think.

1) Mindset: Begin with a new perspective.

Change your perspective, change your reality.

A spiritual practice is not exclusive to monks in temples or yogis in caves. Having bills to pay, businesses to operate and families to take care can also be vehicles towards Self-Realization. Be open to receiving a practice that feels like a genuine starting place for you then allow it unravel from there. Tell yourself that once you choose a practice that works best for you, you will commit to it no matter what until it evolves in it’s own way. This is not another goal on a to do list to achieve.

It is a continuous cycle of work in progress therefore, it’s about your consistency.

2) Environment: Create the space and time.

Choose a space in your home and set up a cozy, warm and inviting environment.

Plants are a great way to incorporate more vibrancy and energy into your space.

Candles, incense, inspirational quotes or photos. You can also have meditation mats or pillows or a meditation chair. The purpose of this is to cultivate a feeling of coming home to yourself. Each time you see it, it beckons you and calls you to your practice. Then decide how long you’ll be in practice for each day. I recommend starting with 3 minutes until you get into your own rhythm.

3) Mind/Body/Spirit Alignment.

Next, systematically take the time to honor the mind, body and Spirit through physical movement.

This can be yoga, simple stretching where ever you feel your body is tense or any kind of fluid dancing or movement. Use this time to connect with your body. Then we align the mind, body and Spirit through the breath.

It’s as simple as slowing down and taking a few cleansing breaths until your mind settles.

In Prosperous: School of Self-Realization, there are 4 signature breathing techniques you’ll learn and you’ll discover how to use them based on what you need and how you feel in the moment but for now, this is a simple way to get started.

Once your mind settles, your body will do.

Notice the relief you may feel after take a deeper breath (pause and give it a try).

Like the waves in the ocean ~

~Inhale,

exhale.

~inhale,

exhale.

~Inhale,

exhale.

Now your mind, body are prepped for the Spirit.

Close your eyes, bring your awareness to your heart and simply focus on an intention.

It could be love, it could be joy, it could be connection.

Allow that intention to turn into a feeling that becomes immersed all throughout.

Then carry that energy with you throughout the day.

Lastly, a spiritual practice is called a practice because it’s not supposed to be perfect.

As I often say,

Self-care is being Self-aware.

Your practice will evolve as you evolve.

This is a simple guide you can use as a way to get started.

May your spiritual practice unravel and guide you to more health, prosperity and peace.

All my love,

Sandy (Shanta)
