[new video] the simple ingredients for a joyful life

the simple ingredients for a joyful life.

It’s our innate nature as human beings to desire more. Desires fuel us. It inspires us. It helps us to innovate, think differently, walk along the narrow edge and push past our limits. Desires help us to understand what’s possible. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with desiring more. However, where we can get in our own way is when we desire external things thinking it will bring us more joy and fulfillment. This belief will eventually lead to a shallow life of things and attachments. The path of Self-realization serves us when we can detach ourselves to what is fleeting. When we learn to use, enjoy, and experience everything this world has to offer, yet not be attached to it at the same time. When this happens, we are liberated.

In this video, I invite you to our space, a 1970’s Floridian ranch-style home with dark marbled brown and orange carpeting. You may even see me cooking a meal of repurposed leftovers in our vintage olive green kitchen before we begin renovations. 🌿 While it wasn’t perfectly our style, we take great joy, love, and care in appreciating it for how we found it and having a blast to the past. While we know we will pour our love into this home and accentuate the beauty that it already is, this video captures the grace of thoroughly enjoying exactly you’re at while knowing that change is on the horizon.

May the simple message in this video invite you to have gratitude for where you are at, no matter the circumstances. Click the play button to watch.

Enjoy.
